Here is some exciting news. Trader Joe’s has arrived to Soho as of May 18 at 233 Spring Street.

In another piece of exciting news, Gucci has a new SoHo store. Interestingly, understanding that this generation does the vast majority of their shopping online, Gucci is working to combat this with their new store. As their chief executive Marco Bizzarri explained, he thinks that shoppers are bored by typical stores and boring websites. The new store at 62 Wooster Street is their attempt to spice things up. As he said, “The younger generation [isn’t] interested in the retail experience because the retail experience is not interesting.”

If you have some extra time on your hands, you might enjoy this slightly off beat entertainment. Sunnyhues Entertainment is putting on a pop-up experience which will include eight interactive showrooms that are supposed to encourage and inspire people with positive energy. It’s called the “Happy-Go-Lucky pop-up and will start on June 9.

This is part of a trend of immersive exhibits that have come to New York City. The Happy-Go-Lucky will be located at 43 Wooster St., and will be welcoming visitors every half-hour from 11-9 until July 8. Tickets can be purchased for $28 during the week and $34 on weekends. The fragrance house Diptyque celebrated its pop-up shop on Thursday night. The pop-up will only be around until May 19 and is intended as a way to celebrate the fragrance’s 50th anniversary. At the pop-up shop, customers can learn about the brand’s history and find out all about how perfumes are made. Perhaps the most fun part of this undertaking is that one person will get a new, original scent. Fans can visit the SoHo store and draw something or they can create something at home and post it to social media with the hashtag #myolfactivelandscape. One winner will be selected to have a custom fragrance created by the Diptyque team.

If you love sewing or knitting, then Purl Soho is the place for you. They sell materials for sewing, knitting, crocheting and embroidery. The store is an absolute feast for the eyes with cubbies filled with yarn.

They also have space for people to sit and sew, which is a great way to get out and enjoy during the winter.

If you haven’t yet heard of Bershka, you can be part of the ground up enthusiasm for this awesome new brand. They just launched their fashion news site and now they are having a pop-up located in Soho at 580 Broadway until the end of the year.

So who is Bershka? They are owned by a company called Inditex who has a number of other fashion retailers including Zara. The prices here are a bit cheaper than those at Zara, which should make many people happy.
